Vanish by Theo Craveiro at VideoBrasil

Vanish is a mirror box where sometimes a light turns on to reveal what’s inside. For a few seconds we can glimpse what is hidden: a bunch of oranges in different stages of ripeness. Some of them are still green, while others are really rotten. It may initially seem to be a process of death and decay, but in fact it is a live colony of fungi, with different colors and pigments. Life and death are the two sides of the same coin. Outside we have a perfect and timeless form, while inside there is a living process of matter transforming and vanishing. This antagonism is recurrent in the history of human thinking, whether in the dualism of Plato and Spinoza, modern and postmodern, or Minimalism and Art Povera.” by Theo Craveiro
