THE VIDEO COMMUNITY WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 01 – AN INTERNATIONAL VIDEO ART REVIEW, WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE IN JANUARY 2013
THE 01 Video Art Review is the first edition of presentations of videos by artists – both art students and established artists – from all over the world. The jury will choose the 5 best works, which will be promoted on the THE VIDEO COMMUNITY webpage http://thevideocommunity.com/en/community The main screening will take place at a selected venue in Krakow (Poland) and there will also be two online screenings accessible on the internet.

The official language for all THE 01 Video Art Review activities and correspondence is English.
THE VIDEO COMMUNITY is a new organisation, established in 2012, for artists, curators and critics involved in video art. Our aim is to create a site which will constitute a virtual space for presenting videos made by artists from all over the world, even the most exotic and culturally distant corners of the globe. A virtual gallery will showcase selected works, illustrating various approaches to using the same medium and conveying a variety of artistic messages.

The Ann Arbor Film Festival awards $20,000 in cash and film stock/services annually to more than 20 filmmakers. The AAFF serves as a qualifying festival for Academy Award® nominations in the short film category. Selected entries will participate in the annual traveling tour.

Open Call for Submissions Saison Vidéo 2013 #37

Saison Vidéo is an association which distributes artists’ films and videos in the Région Nord-Pas de Calais. Since 1988, this program has been acclaimed as a national and international art event. Saison Vidéo proposes on-line programs on its website from March to December, associating students and established artists. It organizes meetings with artists during screenings which are connected with these on-line programs.
Open Call – ASPECT-EZ Volume 4: Deja Vu ASPECT-EZ is a new series of events and DVD publications coordinated by ASPECT to provide support for emerging artists. These events will be under the auspices of the curatorial team at ASPECT, and produced by young interns and guest organizers. Deja Vu is the fourth installment of ASPECT-EZ. For this volume we are seeking time-based works that explore repetition, ritual, nostalgia, found footage, or time in general.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: MAY 1, 2012
Work selected for the event will be featured on a limited-run DVD, published by Aspect. Any art that is best captured with time-based media is suitable for the show. Work or documentation of work should be under 5 minutes, unless convincingly argued otherwise. We will also accept proposals for live performance or installation to be exhibited at the event, the documentation of which will be featured on the DVD. Everyone selected for the show will be eligible for the ASPECT Selects prize. The ASPECT curatorial team will award one participant an ASPECT subscription. This award will be announced at the show.
