Yesterday a friend reminded me that June 26 was the 10 year anniversary of the loss of Margaret Kilgallen to breast cancer at age 33. This month Ratio3 in San Francisco is exhibiting several of her works on paper. Revisiting her work, in its purest forms (sketches of trees and lips and shoes and rain), I feel the joy in how her steady hand made even the simplest forms uniquely her own.

While Margaret was not a time based artist, my heart compels me to sneak her in via an excerpt from her interview on Art21.
