Jodie Mack is a rare creature.  Her handmade animations evoke quilting, singing, dancing, crafting, mathematics, punning, DIY narratives and the simple pleasure of enjoying after images on your retina.  She is about to embark on a West Coast tour and if you are lucky enough to find her in your city, do attend one of her screenings.  One treat you may see is her stop motion animated musical (!), Yard Work is Hard Work, that features a boy meets girl story played out against an examination of suburbia that coincides with the housing crisis.

More of her work can be found here:  http://vimeo.com/jodiemack
